Doug Edwards, resident of Saco’s Hillview community, is running for Saco City Councilor for Ward 1. Doug is deeply committed to our community and its future. Currently, he is the Chairperson of the Saco Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
Doug has lived in Saco for 8 years with his wife Joline; they have two sons who are grown and 2 cats. Doug cherishes the close-knit, supportive nature of his neighborhood. Professionally, he's spent the last 12 years working in Human Resources for Hannaford then IDEXX, where he has honed his skills in leadership, problem-solving, and community building.He feels his experience in leadership roles in churches and civic organizations has prepared him to effectively serve the residents of Ward 1.
As mentioned previously, Doug Edwards has been actively involved in the Saco Parks & Recreation Advisory Board as well as being a board member and currently Secretary of Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference Center. He also serves as one of the leaders of SHADES, an employee-led community at IDEXX focusing on inclusion, diversity and equity. He is proud of his contributions to these groups and Saco events, and is dedicated to continuing this work as your city councilor.

Doug feels he can bring a unique combination of experience, dedication, and passion for the Saco community. Doug feels his background in Human Resources, leadership and his active involvement in local issues positions him well to represent the interests of Ward 1 effectively. Doug states that he is committed to listening to the concerns of the residents and businesses of his ward , working tirelessly to address them.
